Some more Ordinariate news

Fr Roger Nesbit, parish priest of Our Lady Help of Christians, Folkestone, received 25 members of the Ordinariate, former members of St Peter’s Anglican church in Folkestone, into full communion with the Catholic Church in a packed church on Wednesday of Holy Week 20th April including two former Anglican clerics.

Concelebrating at the Mass was Fr Francis Capener, a former vicar of the same St Peter’s whom Fr Nesbit received into the Church at Our Lady Help of Christians in August 1997 and who has been helping in the parish since then. Fr Nesbit comments:

Where he (Fr Capener) has gone they are following. It is quite providential. The Anglican Bishop of Dover attended the Reception Mass and at the end expressed both his pain and his joy. Those who have been received are a very interesting and committed group who have a great unity, friendship and support for each other in their vocation. There is no doubt that they know what they are doing and they have been taking full part in the Easter Triduum since their reception. You can imagine it has brought new life into the parish here. Their former vicar Fr Stephen Bould will be ordained as a Catholic deacon on 7 May at Aylesford and as a priest on June 4 in our Southwark cathedral. Please remember them all in your prayers please.
